I was an active illicit opiate addict for over 35 years. I had 5 attempts at rehab, countless attempts of detox and 2 prison sentences. I am currently on treatment with long-acting injectable buprenorphine and have been for the last 2 years. Today I am free of my addiction to opiates. I am an active member of the Uniting Fair Treatment Campaign as well as serving on two consumer representative groups.
