I dealt with alcohol and other drug use from the age of 12 because of trauma and interpersonal struggles due to a difficult upbringing and my gender identity. I used drugs to cope with the pain, and struggled with severe mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.

Today I am studying youth work and working towards using my life experience as a youth advocate, so they won’t feel alone as I did.
